Hello and welcome to Little Light Bean Creative! My name is Rachel and I am the Earthling behind the creations! It’s so nice to “meet” you. I just wanted to share a little about me and my sewing journey, so we can connect!

First off, I wanted to share the inspo for the name! Little Light Bean Creative was named after my favorite vintage mug (“This human bean loves all!”), and my partners nickname for me (little bean). And the fact that we are all little light beings bopping around planet earth, just trying to figure things out. I feel really aligned in this work, and it feels good to name it in a way that honors those feelings! The playfulness of my sewing, with the beauty of all of us little light beans intertwined :) Anyways..

I first learned to sew in college, when I would visit my Grandma’s house. She taught me the basics of sewing and we made a gold jumpsuit together which I still have. Shortly after I sewed my first ever self drafted onesie for my college boyfriend, which lacked sleeves because I mismeasured the fabric hehe. I took a hiatus from sewing after going through intense healing for several years. But through that period I always held a place for sewing in my heart, with a deep knowing I loved it and would return to it later on. In the past few years I have learned so much about the technical aspects of sewing, and how to be creative with textiles! I now understand how much waste there is in the textile industry, and I am passionate about upcycling clothing and getting fabric & other supplies secondhand to reduce the astronomical amount of waste produced in fast fashion. Thankfully, secondhand fabric and craft stores are on the rise, and we can be super creative these days!

My work is inspired by nature and animals, healing energies, angels and light beings, all the things humans pretend aren’t real ;) We are all on our own paths, and returning to our highest selves, this is part of my journey to do so! I have spent years doing my own healing practice, and have worked with using my light healing on humans and animals. I meditate prior to sewing, and each piece has loving energy infused into every stitch. I hope that my fun upcycled work can help to heal you by bringing out your joyful inner child! I truly believe we are all unique divine beings of light and we just need to remember that sometimes :) You got this, go out into the world and shine that light, you little light bean ;)
